Emergency Paediatric First Aid — One Day Face to Face | Qualsafe Level 3 Award (RQF)

In Campus

Course Overview

Emergency Paediatric First Aid: One Day

Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) | One day face to face

A one-day course in what to do when a baby or child is unresponsive, not breathing, choking or bleeding heavily. You spend the day at our Levenshulme centre practising on infant and child manikins, and you are assessed as you go.

This is a separate, shorter qualification from our full Paediatric First Aid course. Early years providers in England must have at least one person with a current full paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and on outings. If your role needs the full certificate, book Paediatric First Aid instead.

What you will learn

  • The role of the paediatric first aider, assessing an emergency and calling for help
  • Infant and child CPR and safe use of an AED
  • The unresponsive infant and child who is breathing, including seizures
  • Choking, external bleeding and shock
  • Minor injuries such as bites, stings, cuts and nosebleeds

Assessment and certificate

Five practical assessments observed by your trainer and one multiple-choice paper. When you pass you receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF), valid for three years.

Price and times

£60 + VAT (£72 including VAT). The price includes tuition, course reference materials, assessment and your Qualsafe certificate. The course runs from 09:00 to 16:00.

Before you book

You must be at least 14 years old and able to kneel at floor level to practise CPR. Bring photo ID and wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes. The training rooms are on the second floor and can be reached by stairs only; please contact firstaid@plabguide.co.uk or call 0161 564 6162 before booking if you have any access or learning needs.
