Emergency paediatric first aid training in Manchester for parents, carers and volunteers
Our emergency paediatric first aid course in Manchester leads to the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF). In one day at PLAB Guide Training Centre in Levenshulme you learn what to do when a baby or child is unresponsive, not breathing, choking or bleeding heavily.
This is a separate, shorter qualification from our full Paediatric First Aid course. If your role needs the full paediatric first aid certificate, for example in an early years setting, book the full course instead.
Groups are limited to 12 learners per trainer, so choose a date below and book early.
Why train in emergency paediatric first aid with PLAB Guide in Manchester
We teach in small groups, so you spend the day practising on infant and child manikins rather than watching slides. Your trainer assesses your practical skills as you go, so you know where you stand before the short theory paper.
- Regulated qualification: the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF), qualification number 603/0786/9, valid for three years. PLAB Guide Training Centre is a Qualsafe Awards Approved Centre (No. 908553).
- Monthly dates: a Friday course every month, in the same week as our full Paediatric First Aid course.
- Training for your group: we can run this course for up to 12 learners at our venue or at your setting in Greater Manchester for £420 + VAT. Request a group booking.
- Getting here: the training rooms are on the first and second floors and reached by stairs only, so contact us before you book if you have access or learning-support needs. There is limited free parking on site, plus free on-street parking nearby, both on a first-come, first-served basis.

Public courses run every month at our Levenshulme centre, on the Friday of the same week as our Paediatric First Aid courses. See the dates below.
The course runs from 09:00 to 16:00 and costs £60 + VAT. The price includes tuition, course reference materials, assessment and your Qualsafe certificate.
Who this course is for
This course suits people who need to give emergency first aid to babies and children but do not need the full paediatric first aid qualification, such as parents, grandparents, guardians, babysitters and volunteers.

Early years providers in England must have at least one person with a current full paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and on outings when children are present. If you are not sure which certificate your role needs, check with your setting or ask us before booking.
