Life Support Courses
Resuscitation and life support training in South Manchester
PLAB Guide Training Centre delivers life support courses in Manchester for doctors, nurses, paramedics, healthcare assistants and other staff who may need to act when a patient deteriorates or arrests. Courses run at our centre on Moseley Road in Levenshulme and cover adult and paediatric resuscitation, from basic skills to advanced team leadership.
We are a Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) Approved Centre for ILS, PILS, ILSi and EPALS, and an Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG) Approved Centre for APLS. Each certificate you earn is issued under the body that accredits that course.
Choose your life support course
- Immediate Life Support (ILS) covers managing the deteriorating adult patient and starting resuscitation until the arrest team arrives. It is accredited by RCUK.
- Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) is the equivalent course for staff who care for infants and children. It is accredited by RCUK.
- ILSi is for experienced ILS providers moving towards teaching. It is accredited by RCUK.
- European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) is advanced paediatric resuscitation for clinicians who lead or take part in the care of critically ill children. It is accredited by RCUK.
- Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) is a structured approach to paediatric emergencies, accredited by ALSG.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) covers core CPR and defibrillation skills. It is certified by QualSafe Awards (centre number 908553).
