Why train in catheterisation with PLAB Guide in Manchester
You practise on male and female anatomical models in a group of up to 14, with your trainer observing your aseptic technique throughout. The day is split so that everyone in a care team can attend the part their role needs.
- Flexible booking: the full day (6 CPD hours) or the catheter care morning only (3 CPD hours), so support workers and nurses can train together.
- Online learning included: course notes, a knowledge check, flashcards and interactive activities as soon as you book.
- Same-week clinical skills: we run our venepuncture and cannulation course on the Monday and our advanced phlebotomy and cannulation course on the Tuesday and Wednesday. The 3-day bundle combines the advanced course with this one.
- Training at your setting: we run this course, or a half-day catheter care session, for up to 14 staff at your care home or practice. Ask for a group training quote or see our annual training plans for care homes.
- Easy to reach: limited free parking on site, plus free on-street parking nearby, both on a first-come, first-served basis.
Teach on this course
We are recruiting local nurses and clinicians to teach our catheter care and catheterisation courses on an ad hoc basis. NHS experience is highly desirable. Apply to join our catheter care faculty.
