Why schools and nurseries need annual training
The Department for Education's statutory guidance on allergy safety in schools expects all pupil-facing staff to have allergy awareness training at least once a year, and says first aid training on its own is not enough. Early years settings must have at least one person with a full Paediatric First Aid certificate on site and on outings, and newly qualified staff need a paediatric first aid qualification within three months to count in ratios.
