The GE Versana Essential is a portable trolley-based ultrasound system used in clinical and education settings. It suits POCUS courses, simulation centres, universities, private clinics and training providers.
Choose the probes you need:
- Linear probe: vascular access, nerve blocks, musculoskeletal, soft tissue, DVT teaching and procedural training.
- Curvilinear probe: abdominal ultrasound, FAST and eFAST, AAA, renal, bladder and biliary teaching.
- Cardiac (phased-array) probe: focused cardiac ultrasound, basic echo teaching, pericardial effusion and shock assessment.
Every machine is checked, cleaned and handed over with a basic orientation.

Key rental terms
- The renter is responsible for safe use, handling, storage, transport, cleaning and security, and for returning the equipment on time and in good condition.
- Equipment must only be used by trained, competent staff. No sub-rental, lending or relocation without written permission.
- No internal, transvaginal or transrectal use unless agreed in writing. No unauthorised repair, modification or opening of the machine.
- If used clinically, the renter is fully responsible for consent, supervision, reporting, documentation, data protection, infection control, competence, indemnity and patient management.
- The renter should hold public liability, business and equipment insurance, and clinical indemnity if used clinically.
PLAB Guide Ltd provides equipment rental only unless a separate written teaching or clinical support agreement is made. We are not responsible for scan interpretation, diagnosis, reporting or clinical decisions.

How much does it cost to hire the ultrasound machine?
Prices start at £175 plus VAT per day for the machine with one probe. Two probes are £225 per day and all three probes are £275 per day, plus VAT. Weekend, weekly and monthly rates are also available.
Which probes are available?
A linear probe, a curvilinear probe and a cardiac (phased-array) probe. You can hire one, two or all three.
Do you deliver?
Yes. Delivery is charged each way from M19 2LH, from £50 plus VAT within 10 miles. Collection from our Levenshulme address is free.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. A refundable deposit applies, from £500 to £750 for the machine with one probe, rising with the number of probes and for monthly rentals.
Can the machine be used clinically?
If you use it clinically, you are fully responsible for consent, supervision, reporting, indemnity and patient management. We provide equipment rental only unless a separate written agreement is made.
What is your cancellation policy?
7 or more days before: full refund less an admin fee. 3 to 7 days before: 50% of the rental fee. Under 72 hours: no refund of the rental fee.
