                                    Febrile Neutropenia (Neutropenic Sepsis)%u2022 Mainly occurs after initiation of chemotherapy%u2022 Due to bone marrow suppression leading to decreased blood cell production%u2022 Can also occur within 1 year of bone marrow transplantationFacts:%u2022 Fever: >38%u00b0C or two consecutive temperatures >38.5%u00b0C%u2022 Neutrophil count: <0.5 x 10^9/LDiagnostic Criteria:%u2022 Start empirical antibiotics IMMEDIATELY%u2022 IV tazocin (tazobactam + piperacillin)%u2022 If symptoms persist after 48 hours:%u2022 Switch to meropenem + vancomycin%u2022 If patient remains unwell after 4-6 days:%u2022 Investigate for fungal infection%u2022 Continue antibiotics%u2022 Add IV antifungalTreatment:%u2022 Start IV antibiotics in all patients who are unwell with fever and have recent chemotherapy, regardless of neutrophil count.Important Note:
